Underwater attractions

Babica Stine is a picturesque reef by the Brač island, near Zlatni Rat beach, recognised as one of the most beautiful on the Adriatic. Local diving centers are organizing here expeditions for novice and advanced divers, which indicates that attractions are both in shallower and deeper places (up to 25 meters). Already at 5-8 meters underwater it is possible to admire remains of the Roman villa, where in particular it is worthwhile to see shards of mosaic from before about 2 thousand years, lying on the top of cliff. The reef located parallel to the coast is full of small cracks and caves, which due to easy access, can be visited also by less experienced divers. This place is a home for various sea creatures, such as octopus, scorpionfish, gobies, common two-banded seabream. There is also possible to come across of bait fish. The flora appearing in these surroundings is very interesting – yellow gorgonians, a lot of small corals and various species of seaweeds and seagrass. All these attractions cause that Babica Stine is a dream space for underwater photographers. It is possible to reach the reef in 15 minutes by boat from the Bol town.
