Wreck description:

Elhawi Star is 102 meter cargo ship built in Hamburg in 1957. It sank in 1982 right after sailing from the Rijeka port. This happened as a result of wrong way of the loading, which caused the rupture of hull. The shipwreck remained forgotten until 2003, when a local fisherman noticed the pollution of sea. It turned out that the oil came from Elhawi Star. The ship lies on the starboard, at a depth of 42 meters. It is actually intact – it is possible to notice even remains of the cargo and personal objects belonging to the crew. Divers can admire lifeboats very well preserved, lifts, cargo holds and engine rooms. However, it is necessary to pay attention to elements sticking out and lying silt. The visibility is quite weak, particularly at the bottom. It is worthwhile also to mention that plenty of small fish is swimming around the wreck.
